Pre-School
PreSchool options include a part time self contained program and 2 part time integrated preschool programs. There is also a full day option for students in need of ABA services. All preschool classes use the Creative Curriculum and incorporate a Multidisciplinary Team Approach.In Class Support
Students are instructed in a General Education setting with support from a paraprofessional or a teacher of students with disabilities. Instruction may be adapted and/modified to facilitate participation.
In Class Resource
Students are instructed in a General Education setting with support from a teacher of students with disabilities. Instruction may be adapted and/modified to facilitate participation.
Resource Pull Out Support
Academic support is provided by a Special Educator individually or in a small group in a separate setting.
Resource Center Pull Out Replacement
Modified curricular instruction is provided by a Special Education teacher in a separate setting.
Self Contained LLD Continuum
Offers individualized and small group instruction at a modified pace for students in need of specialized instruction. The teachers in the self contained program incorporate ORTON based mulitsensory strategies to teach reading and Touch Math strategies for math. Grades K-5 are located at JAT, grades 6-8 are at the middle school and the STRIDES program (grades 9-12+) is located at the high school.
THE STRIDES PROGRAM
In addition to traditional academic instruction the STRIDES program also offers Community Based Structured Learning Experiences (CBI/SLE). CBI/SLE provides pre-vocational experiences within the district and in the community at large. STRIDES students have had experiences at Walgreen's, Bagel Nosh and the Village Grille. The STRIDES students also run a successful cafe at the high school twice monthly.
