The Waldwick Public Schools seek through its K-12 literacy program to provide students with on-going, authentic reading experiences that are both personally enriching and academically challenging.  Beginning with a Balanced Literacy approach and continuing through middle school and into the high school, the district is committed to helping students develop critical thinking skills applied to reading, writing, listening, speaking, and media analysis. Students will communicate effectively, collaborate thoughtfully, and solve problems creatively with sensitivity to diverse perspectives.  We strive to develop engaged students who are able to understand, appreciate, and communicate ideas effectively and  to graduate students who, through reading, writing, and speaking, powerfully and critically examine texts to better understand themselves and the world in which they live.
