World Languages Program
The World Languages and Cultures Program at Waldwick is an essential component in the 21st Century. The mission is to enable students to attain the skills necessary to listen, speak, read, and write in a language other than English to prepare them for a productive role in the global community. The curriculum is aligned to appropriate proficiency standards. Spanish and French are offered.
Students will be able to use the target language in a culturally authentic situation for lifelong language skills as well as career goals that are critical for success in this changing world where new products, services, and careers are emerging in a global workplace. Students will also gain an understanding and insight into cultural differences that foster personal, work-related, and/or financial success in this interconnected world.
The program provides the opportunity for our students to meet the state-designated proficiency level of Novice-High.
